I had the pleasure of knowing Lizette during my time at Rutgers-Camden and whenever I was with her, she always made me feel included. Every time she was in the room, she always lit it up with her smile and grace as she spoke to people and interacted with them. We often hung out in the Campus Center or the Athletic Center when we weren't in class, she would always make an effort to say hi even if we were just passing through the quad. This spoke volumes about her character and personality as a strong student-leader and role model for the Rutgers-Camden community. Between gamedays and class times, I always looked forward to seeing her as she served her campus community. In our last conversation with her, she told me I was amazing for finishing my half marathon, and her words meant so much because they reminded me how much she believed in and encouraged the people around her to keep pushing toward their goals. I am honored and grateful that I got to meet Lizette and learn lessons to kindness and inclusion from her.
