Obituary of Barbara Shumate Ashinoff

Barbara Shumate-Ashinoff 79, of Clementon, NJ departed this life on April 3rd, 2026.

Born July 27, 1946 and raised by John and Marion Cauthorne of Palmyra, NJ.  Everbody knew that house on the corner at 218 Market Street.  Educated in the Palmyra School System and devoted member of St. Paul UAME church of Palmyra.  Barbara married Roland R, Shumate (divorced) shortly after graduating high school.  From that marriage came a daughter Charlene Linnette Shumate.  Later she remarried to Allen J. Ashinoff (divorced), who remained good friends.

Barbara worked and retired from TD Bank in 2008.  After retirement Barbara enjoyed crocheting and coloring pictures in adult coloring books.  During the day she had her daughter's dog Asha to keep her busy with many conversations and play time.  She also had the pleasure of trying her hand at a painting class.  Ummmmmm and she was an Eagles fan even though her daughter loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.  To her many friends she was known as Bobbie always had a smile on her face through the good, the bad and the ugly.

Barbara leaves behind her daughter Charlene Linnette McCombs of Clementon NJ, son-in-law Kirk McCombs (deceased) and family of Palmyra NJ, Sister Adrienne Leggett, Brothers John R Cauthorne (deceased), Todd L. Cauthorne of Camden NJ , Wayne V. Cauthorne of Palmyra NJ , two nieces Donna Leggett, Desiree' Tyler and two nephews Eric Cauthorne and Marcus Cauthorne. She also leaves to mourn other relatives and friends.  She had a wonderful life meeting many wonderful people along the way.
